STIAS

STIAS is an independent institute of advanced study located on the Mostertsdrift estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa. It provides a space for leading researchers from across the world to engage in fundamental research and intellectual exchange across disciplines.

The workshop is hybrid: sessions at STIAS also run on Microsoft Teams for participants taking part remotely.

Point Sud has booked flights for all participants, arriving at Cape Town International Airport. Transport from the airport to Stellenbosch will be organised, and details will follow closer to the workshop.

Accommodation

Participants are hosted in three guest houses in the centre of Stellenbosch, each a 10 to 15 minute walk from STIAS.

Because all three are within walking distance, no transport is arranged between the guest houses and STIAS. The local transport Point Sud covers is the airport transfer and travel to the workshop’s off-site visits.
